Japanese Gardens, Jurong Lake Gardens*

LocationSingaporeYear2023Area13.5ha
This project was completed while Abby Ng was employed at the National Parks Board, Singapore. Co-designed with Japanese landscape designers.
The refreshed Japanese Gardens feature traditional timber craftsmanship in new buildings and teahouse, along with new garden attractions showcasing water lilies and tropical plants in thoughtfully designed experiences — sunken garden, moon lantern terraces, green walls with tropical epiphytes, and Alstonia trees planted in rocks with recirculating water mimicking natural streams. A zero-energy timber event hall anchors the water gardens.
